"Михаил Иванович! Это я, Люда - соседка! Я к вам, пришла помочь, у вас, наверное, пора прибраться?" - раздался из-за дверей женский голос.

Отложив рутину, Михаил бросился к шкафу, где лежали документы, фотографии, альбомы, письма. «Нужно это всё сохранить!» - эта мысль стала его новым стержнем (core - foundation, basis, mainstay, backbone - central support), осью (axis - pivot, centerline, fulcrum, spindle - central line of rotation), вокруг которой начала вращаться его новая жизнь.
